A big question for many boards of directors of businesses all
around the world is "Who will lead us in the future? Who will bring us
new ideas and a fresh outlook"? Some companies like to go "outside the
box" and hire career CEO's or Presidents who hop from one company to another
only to make a few quick financial changes then jump on board the next
opportunity. Other companies, however, like to train and grow its leaders
from within and if the above image is any indication, ReedGas Propane Company
is ahead of the competition. Meet, Laura Kate Miller and Liana Reed. Laura Kate, (on the left) is the daughter of Lee
and Aimee Miller and the granddaughter of ReedGas Propane Company's President
and CEO, John McManus. Liana, (on
the right), is the daughter of David and Michelle Reed and the granddaughter of
ReedGas Propane Company's Board Chairman, Lony Reed. Aren't they just
cute!! Can't you just read their minds, "Hey, Liana, how many degree days do you think turned today?" "I
don't know, Laura Kate, but I bet we can find someone's propane tank to
fill." "Hey, Laura Kate, do you think we will get to drive one of the big
trucks one day?" "Well, Liana, I
don't know about you, but I just want to get this potty thing down pat right
now!"

New fleet vehicle will help us breathe easy!
Opelousas customers will first
notice what they "won't" notice. Say
goodbye to the loud clatter of the diesel engine and unique tang of that diesel
smoke! Our new propane powered truck
emits almost no poisonous hydrocarbons and virtually no odor; all the while
bolstering it's quiet, calm purr.
Bryce Meche, our Opelousas
driver, is now clean and green thanks to the newest in clean air technology -
Liquid Propane Injection! ReedGas
Propane Company is proud to unveil their newest propane delivery truck, which
will take over the Opelousas marketing area.
The truck is powered by CleanFuel USA's dedicated propane powered engine
through Liquid Propane Injection (LPI).
LPI is not just another LPG Propane conversion
system. It is a fully integrated system, designed in complete harmony with the
OEM engine. Utilizing the GM P-59 engine computer with a dedicated calibration
specifically for propane, the LPI system simply replaces the gasoline fuel
tank, fuel pump and injector rails with a propane fuel tank, fuel pump and
injector rails. LPI is a direct replacement of the OEM gasoline injection
system. Providing the best balance of fuel economy, performance, and emissions
LPI meets EPA requirements through the 2010 production year for both 49 state
and CARB certification.
ReedGas will be eligible for a
.50 cent per gallon federal refund for motor fuel used in this new unit because
propane is an approved alternative fuel.
Combine this with the already inexpensive price tag on propane and we
will be saving about 45% on fuel costs.
Blue Bird school bus also
markets a Propane Powered Vision School Bus with LPI technology, which
qualifies for the same federal tax incentives.

A
boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the
Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to
catch them.
"Not
very long," answered the Mexican.
"But
then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American.
The
Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and
those of his family.
The
American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
"I
sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife.
In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, play the guitar, and
sing a few songs.... I have a full life."
The
American interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard, and I can help you! You
should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you
catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."
"And
after that?" asked the Mexican.
"With
the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a
third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of
selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the
processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this
little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From
there you can direct your huge new enterprise."
"How
long would that take?" asked the Mexican.
"Twenty,
perhaps twenty-five years," replied the American.
"And
after that?"
"Afterwards?
Well my Friend, That's when it gets really interesting," answered the American,
laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and
make millions!"
"Millions?
Really? And after that?" said the Mexican.
"After
that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep
late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife
and spend your evenings doing what you like and enjoying your friends."
Know where
you're going in life...you may already be there.

Propane 101
Ideally, you should never have to think about propane. That's our job.
We'll work to make sure you always have a warm home, hot water and fuel to
cook. However, there are a few things about propane you should know as a
consumer of this exceptional energy. As a propane user, you may already know
some of its benefits. Here's some important information to ensure the safety of
your home and family. Use your nose Even though a chemical is added to propane
to help you detect it in the event of a leak, in rare situations the smell can
become weaker, making it harder to detect. Also, there are other conditions
that could make a gas leak difficult to detect by smell. This can occur for
several reasons, including the following: _ you may be physically unable to
detect the smell of propane, or your sense of smell may be diminished by
prolonged exposure to the smell of propane.
Some medical conditions such as colds or allergies may diminish your
sense of smell. The use of tobacco,
alcohol or drugs may diminish your sense of smell. The smell of propane may be
masked by other strong odors. A gas leak
may accumulate in the basement of your home (propane is heavier than air), or
in a room where no one is present, and therefore could go undetected.
Gas Detectors Are Your Best Bet
Any one of these conditions presents a risk because they can result in
the accumulation of propane gas that may not be detectable by smell alone. If
any of these conditions occur, the only way to detect the leak may be through
the installation of a gas detector. For these reasons, we recommend that you
have one or more UL approved propane gas detectors installed. We would be happy
to recommend one and make sure you know where to plug it in to achieve the best
results.
Efficient, clean burning and safe,
Propane is an exceptional energy.
